About Patrick Durkin:

Patrick Durkin is an alumnus of Berklee College of Music and a published singer and songwriter.  He has performed as a solo pianist and vocalist throughout the New England area, the Caribbean, and in Europe.  His repertoire includes music from the 1900's to the present day, with a broad range of classical compositions, jazz standards, and Broadway show tunes.

Patrick entertains both as a solo pianist and a self-accompanied vocalist.  He is one of New England's premier Dueling Pianists, and has become a regular performer over the past several years at many of New England's finest establishments.

As a Piano Teacher:

I've been teaching the Piano for the past ten years. Nothing brings me greater joy than inspiring a student, no matter his or her age, to play this wonderful instrument, learn their favorite songs, and experience the wonderful satisfaction I experience everytime I sit behind those 88 keys.

My  teaching style is this:  I begin with instruction books so that my students can learn and grasp the fundamentals of music.  I soon accompany this by writing arrangements of their favorite songs, and arrangements of songs that I feel will broaden their appreciation of music while introducing them to all styles of music.

I often suggest to my students that we compose a song together. Something they can claim as their own. We all deserve our own "Piano Man".

I teach in Sudbury, MA on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and in Franklin on Thursdays at my students houses.
